As an artist, I explore the themes of nature, fluidity, and the boundless freedom of expression. My work spans a wide range of visual mediums, including murals, paintings, drawings, and graphic design, each piece reflecting my life and expression. I believe in the message, “Nurture Your Nature.”
My art explores themes of light and dark, nature and urban industrial, and identity in relation to the surrounding environment. Through my work, I strive to promote love, acceptance, and the celebration of life.
In addition to my visual art, I am passionate about performance art, including theatre, dance, and singing. I also have a personal creative writing practice and enjoy collaborating on music with other artists. Teaching art and conducting workshops in community settings and alternative schooling environments are also important aspects of my practice, as they allow me to engage with and inspire others. My art is a holistic experience that reflects my belief in the power of creativity as a means of personal and communal transformation.
Jude Monet Rodriguez, known professionally as “Tomboi Barbi,” is a Los Angeles-based mixed media artist acclaimed for her dynamic and versatile practice. Jude’s artistic journey began in Los Angeles and flourished in the creative hub of Brooklyn, New York. She graduated with honors in Integrated Design from Parsons School of Design at The New School in New York, where she gained extensive experience in murals, gallery work, and an art studio practice. Jude’s commitment to social justice and community engagement is deeply rooted in her practice, drawing inspiration from various art movements, guerrilla marketing, iconography, and Chicana culture. This dedication is evident in her role as founder of Tomboi Barbi, a lifestyle brand promoting holistic wellness with the message “Nurture Your Nature.”
In addition to her visual art, Jude is an accomplished performer, engaging in theatre, dance, and singing. She is also a dedicated educator, having taught art and conducted workshops in various community settings and alternative schooling environments.
